Garmin nüvi 350 3.5-Inch Portable GPS Navigator

Garmin nüvi 350 3.5-Inch Portable GPS Navigator
I was looking around to buy a GPS unit. I wanted reliable maps, easy to use, future real-time traffic expandibility. So I decided to buy the Garmin Nuvi 350 because the sensitivity of the GPS antennas is much better in urban environments and the small pocket-sized shape.

This 3.5-inch Portable GPS is really easy to use, we just took it out of the box and typed in where we were starting/going and it worked. It helped us locating nearby restaurants, attractions, gas staions, etc. Works great and is a terrific value. It offers a lot of features and at the same time is very user friendly.

The only downsides, though, are the following:

  • Consumes a lot of battery power. If you are planning to drive for more than 3-4 hours, you will have to keep it plugged into the lighter socket of the car.
  • The device is sometimes slow in giving directions;hence be prepared to get lost.

I cannot compare this Nuvi 350 with any other GPS since this is the first GP I have bought. Regardless of the disadvantages stated above, I would highly recommend this device to any GPS first-time users.

Garmin nüvi 350 Navigation
The nüvi 350 is first and foremost a personal GPS device. Wherever you go — in your car or on foot– the device offers extremely accurate position data, thanks to a high-sensitivity integrated GPS receiver by SiRF and WAAS-enabled, 12-satellite reception. Combined with detailed maps of the U.S., Canada and Puerto Rico the nüvi 350 provides automatic routing, turn-by-turn voice directions, and touchscreen control– making it easy to find your way anywhere. Plus, the unique “text-to-speech” feature calls out turns by street name, and you can choose from either 2D or 3D mapping perspectives when you’re viewing your route on the display. Additionally, the nüvi 350 is compatible with Garmin’s GTM 10 FM TMC traffic receiver*, which allows users to avoid traffic tie-ups by simply pushing a button that will calculate a new route.

As mentioned, the nüvi 350 comes packed with mapping data for North America, but you can can also load up your custom points of interest. Set up proximity alerts for school zones, safety cameras, and more using Garmin’s free POI (points of interest) loader program (available from garmin.com).

Read User Reviews before you buy:

I had heard from a friend about the Garmin nuvi 350 so I purchased it on Amazon.com and took it on a trip to Florida. It performed even greater than I expected it and has a lot of features that other GPS systems did not have at the price. We plan on using it during the 13 trips we will be taking for work this year knowing we won’t have to have written mapquest directions to get us to our destination. -Donald-
