Product Description |
| Key features:
1. Built-in Battery pack with operation time of about 18 hours.
2. Excellent GPS performance without the need to use an USB Extension Cable
Majority of the USB GPS dongles in the market require an USB extension cable to be used to extend the GPS antenna away from the laptop or a GPS position fix may not be obtained or takes forever to obtain a position fix because notebook / laptop produces electrical interference that weakens the GPS signal in the nearby vicinity.
The Canmore USB GPS Stick Dongle is an exception; thanks to the enhanced antenna and RF frequency tuning implemented in the Canmore USB GPS Stick Dongle, it could obtain GPS position fix without the need of an USB extension cable.
3. Supports A-GPS (aka Assisted GPS), which shorten GPS position fix time to 15 seconds from 30 seconds
With the supplied A-GPS software (PC application), users may download the most updated satellite data (known as almanac) from SkyTraq servers and store the satellite data in to the Canmore USB GPS stick dongle.
Software compatibility: The Canmore USB GPS Stick is compatible with nearly any GPS mapping software available and fully compatible with NMEA standards (all versions).
Hardware compatibility: Works with UMPC / Laptop / Notebook / Tablet PC with a USB port. Included USB Drivers: Windows XP, Vista 32-bit/64-bit.
Features:
* Support button push to manually memorize your location immediately
* Acquire and track 65 satellites simultaneously
* Signal detection better than -160dBm
* Cold start < 30 seconds at 147dBm
* Hot start < 1sec under open sky

I just got this thing. It sounded just like what I wanted to use with my mac for
photologging. That's what it implies right in the heading "linux, mac and pc compatible" well, its NOT there is no software support for the mac (except possibly some driver that might work with MAC OS 8 or 9, but the directory for the Mac incompatible mini-cd that is labeled OSX 10.4, 10.5, etc. contains the same driver as
the mac OS 8 version. Thats it, no other software available on the manufacturers web site or elsewhere on the web. I found one vendor that put down in the small print that it could only be CHARGED on a Mac USB port. That doesn't sound like compatibility to
me. I got this thing because it was small and light and promised a lot. Well, so far it does nothing, and I'm not planning to lug another computer along on trips just to use
the PC software. Now to see if the seller will refund my money.
I gave it one star because you can't give zero.

| The Tracker works but the documentation is poor. It tracks very accuratly with a lot of information about position, altitude, speed at each point as well as average. it is so accurate that you can zoom in on Google Earth and see which side of the road you are on. Have not tried to link it with pictures yet. |

I use a Canmore GT-730FL-S USB GPS Tracker Stick Data Logger from the authorized retailer ,Bedox Inc, as GPS and
USB Data Logger,
It's really small in size and can be used as a stand along Data Logger since it has a built-in battery, just use the USB port to
recharge it.
This device save me away from trouble to get satellite capture and
easy to install the drive prior to serup the GPS software.
